Can I use a car battery charger on a leisure battery

Car starter batteries and leisure batteries are designed for different purposes and operate differently, so their charging requirements are not the same.

Most car battery chargers are built for starter batteries and typically use a simple, fast-charging approach with little or no multi-stage control. Without proper regulation (bulk, absorption, and float), they can overcharge or stress a leisure battery, potentially causing long-term damage.

For this reason, it’s always best to use a charger designed specifically for leisure batteries.
