An inverter lets you run everyday household appliances in your campervan by converting 12V battery power into 230V mains power, just like at home. It sits between your leisure battery and your appliances, taking DC (Direct Current) and converting it into a stable AC (Alternating Current) supply you can actually use.

Most campervan setups use hardwired inverters for a more reliable, higher-powered solution, ideal for running everything from kettles and microwaves to laptops and TVs.

There are two main types: Pure Sine Wave and Modified Sine Wave. Both provide 230V power, but the way they deliver that energy makes a big difference in how well your appliances actually run.
